Picking Fresh Lavender and Taste Testing Sea Salt Caramels

Today was such a gorgeous day to tour Green Bluff.  The Cherry Festival is going on and the farms on the prairie are absolutely breathtaking.  My husband had today off so we headed out early and our first stop was Fleur de Provence Lavender Farm.  I was handed a bucket and  sheers and after a few instructions, I was cutting my own little bushel.  WOW…they smelled amazing, and the honey bees thought so too.DSC_0903A variety of lavender to choose from and the owner is more than happy to share her knowledge with all who stop by.DSC_0924The bees made me a bit nervous but I was determined and stuck with it.  I had to shake the lavender so the bees would fly off to the next bush, then I would cut. This is a place I’ll frequently be visiting.DSC_0920





DSC_0936As we continued on down the road LOOK what we saw!!!  Is this not the most dreamy barn ever???  We had to stop and take a few photos.DSC_0938

DSC_0960We visited Ellie’s Edibles and the owner filled us with samples of the BEST sea salt caramels in the world.  If you are ever in the area, this is a must!  We purchased a box of Vanilla, Espresso and Lemon Sea Salt Caramels.  They melt in your mouth and taste unbelievably scrumptious.DSC_0970Next on our tour was Mrs. Kalin’s Barn.  Such a beautiful setting and such friendly service.  Pick cherries, shop in the gift shoppe or host an event.DSC_0965

DSC_0981That concludes our tour.  Dave and I had so much fun.  We can’t wait until the Fall Festival with all the pumpkins and hot cider.

I’m so thankful to be back in the Northwest.  We are enjoying every minute of it!
