Adding A Few Stripes

Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (10)These are the kind of challenges I enjoy!  Although I had to pay a pretty penny for her, it doesn’t even matter when she turns out this pretty.Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (15)Here’s what she looked like before I got out the old paint brushes and the fabulous CeCe Caldwell’s Paints.Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (17)During the transformation, I took a break to ask my readers if they thought I should add stripes to each side of the cabinet and if she should be distressed or left as is?  The results really came back about 50/50 so I decided against adding stripes and do just a little distressing.  I finishing touches came out exactly how I pictured it in my head.  LOVE it when that happens!!!Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (18)And here she stands today.  Ready for May 3, Junk In The Trunk Vintage Market.Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (19)A close up of her sweet curvy legs.Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (11)I used 1″ blue tape to make the stripe pattern, alternating Vintage White and Seattle Mist natural clay + chalk paint.Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (9)I did a light coat of Vintage White dry brushing to the original handles to make the brass not so prominent.  I also added stenciling to the drawer.  This is just one of my many I have collected over the past couple of years.Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (7)

Adding A Few Stripes ~ Vintage Street Designs (2)So what do you think?  Is she “show ready”?

Hope you all can make it.  There will be approx. 170 Vendors there, 50 more than last time.  The show just keeps growing!

  1. I am so happy to see you post this on your blog. After seeing it on Facebook I wanted to pin it. This is such a cute piece and I love the stencil and the stripes. Perfectly done!

    • Thanks so much Sandy! I’m hoping to catch up on my blogging after the Market. It’s hard to fit everything in during this time crunch. Thanks for the PIn!!! :)
