A Painted Sign Above Our Kitchen Window

SAM_4017Wow, this is exciting!  I finally have the time to squeeze in a little decorating of my own.  Do you ever have more “to do’s” on your list than time to do them?  That’s been the story of my life for the past two years.  Now that I revamped my business and only work from home, I’m getting so much more accomplished.

SAM_3998As you may or may not know, I just opened a second etsy shop to sell custom signs and banners.  “The Sign Factory”  It’s a work in progress ad I’m continue to create and add new inventory.  Some signs are vinyl and some are painted.  I LOVE both and I’m enjoying the whole process.  I used CeCe Caldwell’s Paints ~ Vintage White for the base of this sign and the letters are painted with Black.  I then took a power sander to distress the entire sign.  I wanted it to look aged, not new.  The board was leftover from the arbor we made for a show last Fall.  We still have lots of scrap wood…that’s the BEST!

SAM_4008Here’s the before photo.  Umm…I guess I should have closed some doors and cleaned off the counter top first.  Oh well, just sharing the everyday living of our household with friends, right?

SAM_4021And now…

SAM_4013I’ve wanted to do something up there since we moved in.  Yay!!!

SAM_4020Our Condo Rehab Project is under contract (again) and we’re hoping it will close in the next couple of weeks.  We’re then planning on finishing up a few cosmetic details in our home so it will be ready to sell.  It’s going to be difficult to leave our cute little house and all our wonderful neighbors but this “Washington Girl” needs some greenery.  I realize we live in the desert, but there are areas that have grass and tree lined streets…even some water.  So we’re setting our sights on one of those.  As always, we are praying about where God would have us live so we’re not rushing into anything.  We’ve had some big changes in our life (all for the better) and we want to let things settle before making any sudden moves.  We are so thankful to serve such an awesome God.
