The Condo Is Finished!!! Open House Tour

Welcome to the official first open house of our condo rehab project!  My husband (propertydave) just listed this little beauty last night at 9pm.  We’ve already started to receive phone calls and showings today!  Whoohoo!  It’s listed at $54,900 and all the furnishings can be included for just $1,500.  Located in Sun City, AZ ~ a 55 or older community.  2 bedroom, 1 bath, 1 car garage with additional patio/golf cart parking!

As you enter into this spacious living room and vaulted ceiling you will notice new hardwood flooring, freshly painted walls and all new baseboards throughout.  Remember I was given a $1500 decorating budget.  (I may have gone a little over but shhh…don’t tell)!  Even with all the thrifty purchases and upcycling vintage finds, that money was gone in a flash!  All the tables and chairs were found at auctions, the sofa and rug are from Ikea.  I made the pillows and painted the lamp base to match the decor.  The new lampshade was 50% off at Hobby Lobby.20131016_154932This fabric came from JoAnns and the pillow form came from Ikea. 20131016_154923This pillow is reversible to match the kitchen chairs.  You’ll see in minute!20131016_154807Here’s a little close-up of the wreath I made out of old book pages!  I’ll share a full tutorial in another post soon!

20131016_150726For a small space, it really has a great layout with lots of natural light flowing in.20131016_154843

20131016_154912I’ve been saving this piece for this spot for months.  It just fit, with not an inch to spare.  Whew!20131016_154902I picked up this colorful globe at Home Goods.  It was the only one there.20131016_154852I made this heart garland last year out of sheet music.  If someone purchases the furniture package, I’ll have to make myself another one!20131016_154659And here’s the kitchen!  We completed gutted this baby and added all new cabinets, counter top, appliances and bead board back splash.  This complex was built in the 60′s.  It didn’t have a dishwasher or microwave so we added those.  They were a must.  I thought about my own mother and knew she wouldn’t want to live somewhere that didn’t have those modern conveniences.20131016_155005The color scheme in this area is blue, yellow and white.  I found this adorable little mugs at Ikea and just had to have them.  The brand new coffee maker we picked up at an auction for next to nothing.  It was still in the box and had never been used.20131016_154626This is the shelf that sits above the refrigerator.20131016_154619Table for two…or four.  This table also offers a drawer for added storage.  I spray painted the chairs yellow and made the cushions for a pop of color.20131016_154719Here’s the back side of the kitchen which houses a pantry.  I changed it up a bit by adding chalkboard paint to one door front and removing a door and added baskets.  Going from something I absolutely hated to something I just adore now!!!20131016_154705Now lets take a closer look at the laundry room…20131016_151009We added a stack-able washer and dryer.  The dryer hookup was previously out in the garage.  Yuk, who wants to go out to the garage to dry clothes?  Not this girl.  It was quite the ordeal to make the switch but well worth it.  The washer and dryer was quite the find for just $100.20131016_150951Laundry basket and rustic wall shelf came from Home Goods.  I was so excited to see they had such a collection of items that matched so well.20131016_104022The bathroom has a brand new vanity and sink with new tile back splash.  We also tore out the old tile that surround the walk-in shower with new white subway tile.20131016_151026The Master Suite ~ I LOVE this space!!!  The bed, curtains and rug came from Ikea.  I painted the two dressers to match the bedding I found at Ross Dress For Less.  I also painted the bedside lamps I picked up for just $2.20131016_151038As you can see, there is a his & hers side to the closet.  My husband laughed at me.  The hangers were free, but can you see the gift bag on the floor?  It’s a mustache design printed all over it.  So cute! 20131016_104104Lets see what’s behind the door at the end of the hallway…20131016_104155It’s a sun room/2nd bedroom.  We added a solid door that leads to the back patio for security and a closet.  We also installed a bead board ceiling to brighten and update the room.  A fresh coat of white paint brought it all together.  This patio set was a $40 find.  The beautiful plant came from Costco.  Lets hope I can keep it alive!

20131016_104143Oh, this picture on the wall originally came from Z Gallerie.  I just a paid a couple of dollars for it.  The possibilities are endless for this space.  I had so many GRAND ideas but by the time I got to this room, the budget had been blown!20131016_151208Patio/Golf Cart Parking

There’s a golf coarse right across the street!20131016_151412And the garage.  Not too exciting to look at but really nice to have.  Many homes in this area just have carports.20131016_100332I can’t believe it’s finally finished.  I’m excited and kind of sad at the same time.  When this one sells, we’ll just have to find another project, right?

So glad you came to the Open House…come back again soon!

Judy
