The name says it all with this adorable little sewing table. It really is “cute as a button”!!! And I have a hidden surprise to share with you but you’ll just have to keep scrolling down through the photos to see it!
A Special MakeoverFor this special makeover I wanted to try something a little different. I had just finished a custom order using a recipe for Duck Egg Blue with CeCe Caldwell’s Paints. So, since I had some left over, I painted a base coat with it first. Next, I brushed on Omaha Ochre. Oh, I was liking this combo already!!!
Are you ready for the secret reveal?
OK, I’m going to admit something to you even though I felt a little dumb at the time ~ when I first saw this piece, I thought the top drawer was broken ’cause I couldn’t get it open. Then my husband walked up to it, pushed on the left side while pulling on the right and voila…it popped right open! How cool is that? There is NO WAY I would have ever thought it was a swinging drawer front. (I’ll know from now on!)
Who would suspect there would be a spot to hold thread inside the top drawer of this little cabinet? I LOVE it!!!
To finish this piece, I wet distressed focusing on the edges and around the knobs
Then came a quick coat of clear and aging creams. Did a little buffing and she was ready for her photo shoot!
This is just a sample of what I’ll be taking to Junk In The Trunk Vintage Market on Nov. 9. I can’t remember if I mentioned this or not, but I’ve reserved three booths this time. It’s going to be an AMAZING event! So much to see and choose from, it’s going to be overwhelming (IN A GOOD WAY). Not only will there be my signature painted pieces but Christmas will be in the air, including decorated Christmas trees for sale, decorations, gifts, etc… I will also have CeCe Caldwell’s Paints, waxes and brushed available for purchase. Oh…and…let’s not forget…one whole booth that will be dedicated to architectural salvage. Really cool stuff!!! Hope you can join me there!
