New Home Design Project

1Living room

I have some wonderful new clients who just moved to Arizona.  They bought a beautiful new home and have started the decorating process but when it came to the formal dining room they got stuck.  They really never wanted another formal dining room because they just don’t have a need for one.  After scrolling through all the photos on this website, they gave me a call.  We came up with using the space more as a game room than a dining room.  When we met in person I brought several photos of ideas and a plan was set in motion.2Living/dining combo3Dining (game room) space

These DREAM clients are willing and open to any ideas and the rearranging of furniture.  We’re going to have fun playing when I return with the final furniture and decor pieces.  I happen to have the perfect table and chairs in stock ready to be painted.  I also had an awesome high quality Henredon High Boy that I’ve painted to store all their table games.  I have only shared a few photos with them, just giving them a glimpse of what’s to come.SAM_0487Here’s the gorgeous material that’s going on the seats of the dining room chairs.  It’s sitting on top of the dining table finished in CeCe Caldwell’s Vintage White and Young Kansas Wheat.  This material will compliment the patterned curtains without competing with them.  It will also bring in the touch of turquoise from the living room.  The couple is looking for a Cottage Chic feel.SAM_0485Here’s a peek at the game cabinet…can’t share to much with you either ’cause my client visits my blog.SAM_0473Such cute little legs.  I used CeCe’s Vintage White, Young Kansas Wheat and Santa Fe Turquoise.  You can now shop for these paints and more in my online store I just opened this week.
SAM_0478I placed the original pulls on the bottom two drawers but we’re switching it up a bit for the cupboard doors up top.  I’m taking a selection of knobs with me next week so my clients can choose.  Hmmm….will they choose clear crystal or the more colorful, decorative knobs?  We shall see!!!SAM_0488OK…now this photo is taking a risk on my part.  Shhhh, they haven’t see this fabric yet.  They gave me an antique desk chair from their kitchen to also recover.  Their eating nook is decorated with greens and reds.  I wanted to find something different that would reflect their fun personalities.  The chair is a dark chocolate brown stained wood so this fabric is going to look gorgeous on the seat.  I’m going to add a little padding as those old chairs just don’t have much. Client's Sneak PeekAnd finally…the new crystal chandelier I purchased at the World Market Center in Vegas last week.  Oh my goodness, it will add so much light and sparkle for all those game playing, entertaining gatherings.  I’ll share the final reveal with you all in a couple of weeks. I’m hoping the chandelier makes it here in time!!!

Until next time…

  2. I really like the color palette! Just beautiful :0)

    • Thanks Bridget…it’s been really fun to work with turquoise as an accent color. I don’t get to play with bright colors very often. :)

  3. I work at Pier one in chandler and see some of our product. So glad your on line for paints soon to order

    • Yay…thanks Tammy!!! The paints are online now! I LOVE Pier 1. How do you keep from spending your entire check each month on all that wonderful stuff? I can always count on Pier 1 for accessories to my furniture pieces! :)

  4. How did you paint those drawers? Is that wax or glaze or ?? over the turquoise? BEAUTIFUL!

    • Hi Sandy…actually I just painted a coat of white and then the turquoise, rubbed with a damp cloth and then used a mix of clear and dark aging cream. All ~ CeCe Caldwell Paint products. I’ll be posing more about this entire project next week. The BIG REVEAL is this Friday! ~ Judy
