Husband + Hardwood = DONE!!!

IMAG1535My husband is the BEST!!!  While I was away having fun at my High School Reunion and visiting family, he was at home laying hardwood!  And what an AWESOME job he did!IMAG1536He started in the master bedroom in front of the sliding glass door.  He definitely wanted this highly trafficked area to be straight and tight.IMAG1538Then came the closet with many small cuts.  Lots of work on the old hands and knees and he has the bruises to prove it.  I feel bad that I wasn’t here to help.  Timing just doesn’t always work in our favor.IMAG1543Making progress!IMAG1545And the master is DONE!!!  He was so sweet to send me pictures as he went so I wouldn’t miss anything.IMAG1549A new day…a new room!IMAG1550In the living room, he tackled in front of the doorway first.  This area was a little tricky.  We will have to figure out a way to finish the spot between the hardwood and the door itself.  The metal strip is concreted into the floor so it couldn’t be removed, and it’s at a slant.  I may just paint it!  Any suggestions???IMAG1551Moving right along.IMAG1554Almost done.IMAG1555Yay!!! Looks gorgeous!!!IMAG1557Here’s the view heading into the kitchen and hallway.IMAG1558Just purchased the new baseboards today so he’ll paint them tomorrow and start the installation.  Next, we’ll move all the furniture into the rooms that are finished.  We are desperate need of space to continue working.  ”Job well done Babe.”

  1. It looks fantastic! I know how much work that is–it is worth it though :)
