Wooden Tea Cart, What Color Should It Be?

In the last two days I’ve had a couple of clients drop off some new items for me to makeover.  I wanted to share them with you and get your opinion on the wooden tea cart. SAM_4920So here it is…my client would like the removable tray to be refurbished to it’s former glory and then would like to paint the rest of the cart in the color of my choosing.  What color do you think it should be?

Painted-cottage-tea-cart-Cottage-Chic-Beach-Chic-Ebay-Seller-LpMarketingHere’s just a couple other carts I found online for some color inspiration.

SAM_4919Same client dropped brought me this piece with specific instructions.  It’s going to be a fun project.

Bombay ChestHere’s a photo she sent me of her inspiration piece styled in Union Jack.  She just wants the white to be a pale yellow instead.

SAM_4918Final piece dropped off from my “Everything Beach Inspired” clients.  They saw some other furniture pieces I finished with CeCe Caldwell’s Smoky Mountain Gray Chalk Paint and want this dresser finished the same.  However, for them…everything gets highly distressed.  I LOVE it!  I’ve had the privilege of doing several makeovers for them and it’s always a pleasure!

SAM_4550This coffee table is in the Smoky Mountain finish.  I’ll crystal knobs to the upper drawer since the pulls are missing.  It’s going into a girl’s room so it will give it a definite feminine touch.  I’m excited for the transformation!

  1. Great pieces, Judy! The cart looks like a fun project to work on. I like the white and blue images you show.

  2. The cart is such a “chunky” build I would be tempted to go to a green or darker blue. Light colors are to feminine for the build. Native Henna by Valspar is a nice green I have used on a desk or that nice denim blue you used on a chest not long ago.

  3. Hi Judy……Okay, great minds think alike because I just yesterday started a Union Jack project…..It’s tedious with all the taping, but I think my little piano bench is going to be super when it’s done.

As for the tea cart – I did one last year in Old Ochre that I love – dark waxed it and it’s gorgeous. But I’m in love with the one you did with the graphic – may have to redo mine in that look.

    • Ooo…your piano bench sounds awesome! I just picked up some Old Ochre so I’ll definitely take a look at that! Thanks so much for your input! Have a great week! :)

  4. wonderful inspiration I love the white with the decals! But the Mediterranean teal is lovely too. I look forward to your reveal. xo

    • Thanks Katherine…I just got home from Florida last night and I’ll be leaving again on Monday so I really have my work cut out for me! Hope you are having a GREAT week! :)
