Why Did We Bring These Home?

Have you asked yourself WHY after bring something home with you?  These three tables are definitely not my style but they thrown in at an auction with a chair I wanted so I brought them home.  Then the big question was…what was I going to do with them so they would appeal to my customers?
Before↓
Totally Western Style, Totally NOT Cottage Style!  Not to mention, a little sad and plain looking, don’t you agree?
After↓
I started out by painted each piece white, then used CeCe Caldwell’s Smoky Mountain Gray Chalk Paint.
Next I distressed with a damp cloth to expose some of the white underneath.  Once it was dry, I used blue tape to make the stripes and sponge pained with white paint.
Then I used the Blender Pen Method to transfer this graphic onto the table.  I used a combination of graphics from The Graphic Fairy.
Talk about a BIG change!  I’m really kind of loving them now!
I just couldn’t quite taking pictures.
OK…I’m about done.
Last photo of the coffee table solo.
Now, on to the side tables.  I made this graphic in Word then printed them in mirror image on my laser printer to once again use the Blender Pen Transfer Method
Easy to do but I needed nose plugs!  Whew, those fumes are strong!
And here’s No. 2.
Had a little trouble with the period here.  I switched pens and the liquid just flew out.  I normally don’t have this issue.  Oh well, I told my husband; “they’re rustic”.
For the finishing touch, I used a mixture of clear and dark wax.
It always amazes me what a little paint can do!
