Good morning! I’m just getting ready to take off to go fluff up my booth at Furniture Affair and deliver some gorgeous Ethan Allen Black Hitchcock dining room chairs I picked up last weekend. Don’t tell anyone know, but I’m also going to make a quick stop at Starbucks on the way!
I love painting pieces white but the other day I felt in a blue mood and this cabinet was just jumping out at me. My husband just said to me this morning “it’s funny how you can really dislike how a piece looks and then it can turn into a piece you don’t want to get rid of.” That’s how I feel most of the time. I get attached to every piece. I painted using duck egg blue and then brought out the power sander to highly distress. I then mixed a combination of clear and dark wax (heavy on the dark wax) to brush on. Once it sat for a few minutes, I buffed with a smooth rag. It’s now ready for my next Vintage Market (I’m stocking up)!

I love this one! Didn’t like the knobs until you refinished…strange how a different color changes the entire look of the piece! Wish I was close enough to shop your store and purchase…you do a great job! Jana
