I chose CeCe Caldwell’s Chalk Paint Vermont Slate as the base coat. I then added a quick layer of Vintage White and then topped it off with a layer of one of my all-time favorites ~ Young Kansas Wheat. I then took a lunch break, drove myself to Paradise Bakery for an Asian Sesame Chicken Salad. Yummy! When I returned the paint was dry and I proceeded to wipe it down with a damp cloth, pressing harder in the areas where I wanted to break through all the layers. There was so much contrast already that I decided to just brush on a coat of clear was and not use any dark was at all. Once the wax is buffed out and the knobs are placed back on, this little beauty will be ready for a real photo shoot!!!
Some great detail for distressing!!!
And here’s Paul’s project! He used two coats of Blue Montana Sky and then a mixture of dark and clear wax. I can’t wait to see it set in the showroom, staged to perfection! It’s going to go quick! Wouldn’t it make a beautiful statement in a guest room?

Lovely! I like the layers!
Thanks Jill…even though it was several layers, with chalk paint it goes on so easy and fast!
