China Hutch Progressing

It’s 8:00 pm and I’m completely beat!  I decided to call it a night!  I’m back to painting around the clock getting ready for the last event of the year!  This weekend I will be a vendor at Recycled Ranch Flea Market.  This is my friend, Brenda’s first event like this and it has grown into quite a production with over 20 vendors at her ranch in attendance.  How exciting!!!  Click on Events and it will take you to all the information need!  Anyway…I put my husband to work today cleaning, building, painting, etc…  What a blessing he has been.  I finished several projects, just need to do some waxing tomorrow and then start on a couple more pieces.  Tonight, I worked on my very own china hutch.  Can’t wait for it to be finished so I can place all my dishes inside.  Here’s a peak at the progress.  I still need to put the final coat of paint on the all the doors ~ maybe I’ll have time tomorrow (fingers and toes crossed).

I painted the interior back wall a light misty blue and then stenciled with ASCP old white.

The rest of the hutch is painted with old white and CeCe Caldwell’s Young Kansas Wheat.  I wiped it down with a damp cloth to expose the white underneath.  Next I’ll wax it with a mixture of clear and dark waxes.  I want it to stay light so I’ll use just a very small amount of the dark wax.

It won’t be long now, just in time for Christmas!
