Smoky Mountain Server

What a beautiful weekend here in Arizona!  My husband and I just returned from a wonderful Saturday night service at our church and dinner on the patio.  They have the best food…and there’s even a Starbucks, which if you know me at all, or just getting to know me ~ you know that coffee is one of my many passions!

OK, on to sharing my Smoky Mountain Server!

I picked up this piece way back, along with a buffet and dinning room table.  The buffet and table are long gone but this piece just kept getting pushed aside.  It finally got moved up in line this week and I just finished it this morning.  I have recently had the opportunity to paint with CeCe Caldwell’s Chalk Paint at Furniture Affair.  It’s been fun experimenting with a different paint and array of colors.  So this week I decided to give Smoky Mountain Gray a try for my server.  First I painted a layer of homemade white chalk paint and then added the gray.  I used a damp cloth to rub all the edges and other areas I wanted the white to be exposed until I had just the right look I was going for.  Don’t get me wrong, I love getting out the power tools just as much as the next gal, but there IS something to say about no sanding ~ no mess!!!

(Tomorrow I’ll share my power tool projects.)

I’ll be taking this piece down to my space at Furniture Affair this week.  I’m stocking up once again for the numerous Vintage Markets I’ll be at in November.  It’s going to be a crazy month!

Here’s photos of the matching buffet and dining table I refinished and sold ~

Dining Table ~ ASCP Old White & Duck Egg Blue

Have a wonderful week!

Hi, was just doing my nightly blog hopping, and I came across you’re blog and this post, I have this same piece it was free on Craigslist and when I went to pick it up the hutch was there also it was huge with the wire doors I was alone and couldn’t grab it looking back I could kick myself! I redid mine also but I’m keeping it might even make it a bathroom Vanity it’s to different to sell, I’ve looked at thousands of finished furniture online and never have come across this piece, mine also came with a wooden insert that slides into one of the sides inside that you can slide plates into, the ends are curvy really cute, well thank you you made my night. And now I know what the other pieces of the set look like Thank you! Great Job

    • Yay…so glad I had an example for you. All these pieces sold right away. I’m in the process of moving my shop to a new location and I’ll be focusing more on a vintage and farmhouse glam theme. Should be a lot of fun. I’ll be posting lots of photos in the near future so be sure and check back! Thanks so much for all your sweet compliments! HUGS ~ Judy
