Vintage Chalkboard

OK…I have to give all the credit to my husband for this one!  It was a really ugly mirror that was in bad condition.  I didn’t even look twice at it as I was passing by but it somehow caught his eye right away!  This is why we make such a great team.  Even though we sometimes see things differently, it doesn’t mean that either one of us is wrong ~ it just means we haven’t seen the other’s vision for the piece yet!  Dave spray painted the mirror with black chalkboard paint, then I layered on my homemade chalk paint in a variety of colors then mixed ASCP clear & dark wax and brushed it on to antique and seal.  He then asked me to decorate it with chalk to showcase it.  He even told me what to write!  When I have the time, haha, I plan to perfect Subway Art.  Right now, I’m lucky if my words are just straight! 🙂  The small chalkboard on this post was my very first attempt…don’t laugh!  Just kidding, you can laugh if you want!  I can take it!

This extra large vintage chalkboard will be priced at $125.00 this Saturday at Junk In The Trunk Vintage Market.

Can’t you just visualize this hanging in a Pub or on a kitchen wall if you had the wall space?

Here’s pics of the small chalkboard…yes, I need practice! (Smiles)
