Sunday Finds

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned before that my husband and I attend a Saturday night Church Service, for one ~ we love it, two ~ there is a great auction nearby held every Sunday morning.  We leave the house about 7:30am with coffee in hand and head out on a mission, hoping to find some horribly, neglected treasure that no one else wants!  Today, we found a few!  Normally I wait to share before and after pics but I’m working right now on custom orders and I’m not sure when I’ll get to these so I thought I’d show you now.

This first item is a chair made by the Tell City Chair Co.  It’s solid as a rock, I just need to re-cover the seat cushion and polish her up a bit.  Thanks to our friend and spotter, Ken, who told us we needed to bring her home with us!
This is a sweet little swivel chair.  She would be great behind a desk or vanity.
We scored another secretariat.  Almost perfect condition.  I noticed a small crack on her backside but it doesn’t affect her integrity.

Finally…we picked up this little side table along with another table (that we have already loaned out to a friend to use at her garage sale) for just $1.00 FOR BOTH!

We didn’t need to stop here but my husband bribed me with “I’ll take you out for a nice lunch if we don’t have to stay.”  Since it was going to be another couple of hours before the other items I wanted came up for bid, I gladly agreed.  There is always next week, right?

  2. GREAT finds – love the serpentine drawers on that secretary!

  3. Love the secretary, Judy! I’m looking forward to seeing that redone. I have to hit our Salvation Army on a more regular basis ~ they always have a lot of furniture. I’d like to find a desk of some kind for my daughter. One I can makeover for her as a Christmas gift.

    • Thanks Kathy…wow, that would be an awesome gift for your daughter, and one she could cherish for years to come. My daughter and son-in-law are purchasing their first home in a few months and have asked me to shop for their furnishings and decorate. They want a more modern look and I can’t wait to get started. No matter what the age, it’s always wonderful to be able to do something special for our children! :)

  4. Great finds. Love the secretary is is beautiful. I can’t wait to see what you do.

  5. Oh my goodness, that secretary is gorgeous. Are you going to paint it? I can’t wait to see it redone!!

    • Hi Heather…I do plan on painting a portion of the secretary, but just how much, I’m not sure yet. I love the contrast of stained wood & paint. It will be done in the next week or so. Have a wonderful weekend! ~ Judy
