Pier 1 Knockoff Bedside Table

I have been saving Inspirational Bedroom Photos ’cause I kind of have a blank slate.  We sold everything before moving to Arizona so all we have now is our queen size mattress & frame.  As we attend auctions and flea markets, I just keep on the lookout for pieces that I can use.  We decided that we would just take our time and make it an adventure!

Here are a few of my inspirations:

I love all the calm neutral colors!  I wish I could have an elegant chandelier hanging from the ceiling but it is a must-have in AZ to have a ceiling fan.  We use it every night!  I will just have to make the bedside table lamps and other furnishings make up for it!

Ok…so here is my bedside table I picked up for just $30.00 at a local auction house.  One similar to this with a pull-out tray sells for $299.95 at Pier 1.

Pier 1 Nightstand

The “before” pic

I would have loved to have decorated the top before taking pictures but I just finished it today and put a layer of wax on it.  When I photograph the entire room (once it’s finished) then I’ll have the whole room filled with goodies!
I painted this piece with homemade chalk paint.  The first layer was Pebble Stone and then I added two layers of Old White.  I got out the belt sander to distress it and then used ASCP clear and dark wax.  Luckily, the original pulls were in excellent shape so I just had to put them back on and wa-la…one piece to my puzzle is in it’s place!  Our bed is quite tall so it can handle a table of this size.  Our room is large with a vaulted ceiling so I’m excited about gathering all the other puzzle pieces!
Hope you have a wonderful week!  Until next time ~

I have been planning something like that for my daughter’s room, and would like to see more. Welcome to AZ. We moved here about 3 years ago, and it’s growing on us! Thanks for sharing!!

    • Thanks so much Theresa…I’m sorry I don’t remember but if I think of it or come across it again I will definitely let you know. I love the weather here in AZ but I really miss the pine trees and water in the Northwest. It does take some getting use to! HUGS!!!
