My Burlap Bench

Here’s another piece completed for our master bedroom!  I’m revealing the makeover one piece at a time before the BIG reveal.  Mostly because I can’t wait to share!  This bench that has now found it’s place at the foot of our bed, was originally from the Bombay Company.  I picked it up at an auction several weeks ago.  Sorry, didn’t really take a good before pic but the base was a shinny cherry wood and as you can see, it had a floral material covering the seat cushion (not the original cover).  Anyway…I had purchased the last yard of this particular burlap at Joann’s about a month ago and have been waiting to do something with it.  It certainly has fit the bill for this project.  I painted the base with homemade white chalk paint, sanded it and then used a mixture of clear and dark ASCP wax to antique and protect.  It’s way too hot in Arizona to sleep with a comforter so now when I fold it to the foot of our bed, it will no longer end up on the floor.  Yay!!!

So…two bedside tables √, bench √  I’m making progress!  (Happy Dance)

Hope you have a blessed weekend!
