Fall Decor

I just want you to know before you look at all the pictures, I really did do some work this morning before I started playing! Heehee!  I painted two chairs and recovered the cushions for a client and I painted the first coat of grey on two french inspired end tables!  Then, I got a little side tracked.  I was re-arranging some dishes in my kitchen cupboards and I came across my Southern Living At Home salad plates and thought;”I need to use these in my Fall tablescape.”  So I ditched my re-arranging and started playing!  Yay, way more fun!!!

If I had some twigs to intertwine I think that would really top of this tablescape but I just worked with what I had.  I think I’ll paint the two terra cotta pumpkins…probably white for next year’s decor.  I don’t have the time this year to change up everything but that will give me something to look forward too.  Maybe I’ll find some good deals the day after Thanksgiving when I go shopping!

My candy dish needs a refill.  What is your favorite candy this time of year?  I would have a hard time choosing just one!

See my cute acorn place card holders?  They came in a set of four in a little burlap bag with a wooden button.  I have two sets!  The names on the cards are from the last time I used them ~ my mom and dad, Bronson, Jill, Jordan, Dave & I.  Must have been in Meridian Idaho for a family dinner!  Wish we could all be together this Thanksgiving and/or Christmas!
Pretty new napkins I picked up last week!  I promised my husband I would not buy any more napkins until I used up the numerous stacks I had been moving with us from state to state over the past few years.  Well, they are finally gone so I treated myself to these lovelies!

 My little pumpkin family!

I’m usually not a very sentimental kind of gal, but my daughter Jill made this scarecrow several years ago and it’s something I cherish year after year.  It just makes me smile!  I have it hanging in our office.
This little ceramic pumpkin fits perfectly on this candle holder.  (Side note:  these candle holders were used in our wedding ceremony.)  They now sit on my husbands nightstand.
OK…so this last picture has nothing to do with Fall decorating but I just had to share it anyway.  My friend Kim just gave this to me (just because).  Isn’t is sweet?  She is too!  Thank you Kim, I’m so glad God brought you into my life! (Imagine me grinning from ear to ear right now.)

This is a really good closeup of our purplish counter top in our kitchen.  The whole house used to be this color…walls, carpet, cabinets, etc…   The cabinets are now white and we purchased all new stainless steel appliances and even though the counter tops are in excellent condition, we plan to change them out sometime in November.  It will certainly brighten up the kitchen even more and give it more of a cottage feel.  Can’t wait!

Happy Decorating ~

  6. Hi Judy

Thanks for your sweet comments. I’m looking forward to getting to know you better as we follow each other. Sounds like we like a lot of the same things – furniture painting (although I’m a long way from having a business), home decor and antiques. Fun.
