Distressed Blue & White Desk

I found this desk buried under a pile of junk.  Could hardly get to it because it was so surrounded by stuff but I think I just have a sixth sense when it come to small tables and desks like this one!  It’s even a bigger score when they still have all their hardware and the drawers still work without needing repair!  Yahoo!  So here’s the progression for this piece…
 “Before” photo
Painted it all white with chalk paint.
Painted the top, drawer fronts and leg fronts duck egg blue.
Next, I sanded all the edges and then antiqued with dark walnut Minwax stain.
It was almost too dark, so I lightly sanded all over it again to lighten the stain and did a little bit of dry brushing with white.
It’s virtually impossible to get the perfect straight lines needed  for all the cut-ins this treatment requires so that is why I chose to stain darker than I normally do.  It covers any imperfections!

I’ve had this piece sitting in my living room for a few days now and the more I look at it the more I like it.  I’ve even thought about keeping it for my office and selling the other desk I just painted for myself and haven’t even had the chance to use yet.  But I think I’ll take it to Market this Saturday and see how she does.  I’ve got her priced at just $169.00

Update:  SOLD at Market!!!

Have a great night…until next time ~
