The first thing I did was paint her with Old White Homemade Chalk Paint…she already looks better!
The next step was to paint a layer of CeCe Caldwell’s Young Kansas Wheat.
A closer view of the top drawer and it’s beautiful scroll detail.
Originally I was going to just paint her grey and white but then I decided to be a little more bold. Here I accented her with Annie Sloan’s Duck Egg Blue Chalk Paint. This was the accessorizing jewels to her new outfit.
I also wanted the scroll work to pop!
Then I took a smooth damp cloth and rubbed her down to highlight all the edges and expose the white underneath. I’m lov’n it!!!
Then I brought out the wax to age and protect her. Using my ASCP waxing brush, I applied a mixture of clear and dark ASCP wax. It gave her the richness and finishing touch I was hoping for.
Closeup of the clear glass knob.
Her pretty legs!
Her Tiara!
And she’s ready for the Royal Ball.
Here’s a look at the reflective knobs closeup.
So what do you think? This one or the clear glass? I like them both and can’t make up my mind.

Thanks so much Bobi…I would love to come join your party! Be there in a few!
I like the clear glass knobs! Great job – she looks lovely.
Do you use latex paint to make your own chalk paint? and I’m assuming it would still have the latex paint smell? i’ve had some people ask me aobut homemade chalk paint and I had these questions for you gals who make your own!
The clear knobs are my husband’s favorite too. I like them both but the majority are liking the reflective!
I actually use 100 percent acrylic paint (usually Behr) flat and low odor. I tried another brand of paint and it ended up in the garbage can. So, you really want to stick to high quality paint products. Hope this helps! Thanks ~ Judy
Victoria turned our GORGEOUS!!! Great job and I like the reflective knobs best!
Thanks Stephanie…the reflective knobs win!!!
That buffet was so dark and dreary before you gave her a makeover. She’s lovely now and I’m sure will soon be in a new home! ~ Maureen

Thank you! Yeah, these pieces are far and few between. I just went by an auction tonight and came home empty handed. Just nothing worth staying for. Oh well…onward & upward, I’m sure there will be something next time!
