Stenciled Sweetie

I’m soooo happy…I’ve been dying to use a little glass knob on a project but most of my redo’s have had perfectly good knobs or pulls that I just couldn’t justify changing out.  This little sweetie was the perfect opportunity, the pull it came with couldn’t be re-used because frankly…it just looked funny.  (I wasn’t crying ~ I was cheering)  My husband sanded and stained the top for me with dark walnut, then I painted it with Pebble Stone homemade chalk paint.  I already had this cute stencil and it fit beautifully as a backdrop for my lovely knob.  Final touches were done by lightly sanding the edges and using a little of ASCP dark wax which I applied with a small smooth cloth instead of my brush.

Here’s the before ~ Oh ya…I forgot to mention that I filled the original holes with wood filler and then measured and marked where I wanted my husband to drill a new hole.  If you look closely you can see the outline of the old pull.  It was way out of scale for this little side table.
