Graphic Antique Desk

I’m so excited about how this beautiful piece has been revived and restored!  Hope you like it too!  


The bones of this desk were all in tact, it just needed a little loving care!  I enlisted the help of my handyman (hubby) for this job!  He spent some time out in the 104 degree weather sanding down this piece for me!  Hey…wait a minute…I tackled the drawer!!!  Anyway…it’s a good thing we have a pool to go jump in and cool down after jobs like this.  The desk was just so pretty that I decided to just re-stain the base in a dark walnut and only paint the front with old white chalk paint.  I then went to The Graphics Fairy for inspiration regarding transferable graphics.  I chose the Printers Ornament with Crown for the drop down leaf and the Paris Address for the drawer.  I used the Blender Transfer Method for both of these designs.  I was very fortunate that the pulls were still in excellent condition and could still be reused.

I can’t wait for the Buyer of this treasure to come pick it up today so I can the reaction on her face.  I hope she loves it as much as I do!  The last time she saw it, it was piled high in my garage and pointed at it and said “I’ll take it”.  She could see all the potential it had.

    Oh my goodness! GORGEOUS!! I have one that I found at a garage sale for (get this…) $3!! It’s a bit rougher than yours, but I’m going to use yours as inspiration. I’ve been into the French graphics lately anyway. How can you resist not doing more?;)

    It’s so pretty if I lived near to you I would steal it, then you would have to go to the policy and file a police report, but by that time I would of left the state.
