Dining Table Transformation

I’m very happy to be sharing this transformation because it means I’ve finished it!  I picked this beautiful curvy table up several months ago and it’s been a big piece to store while waiting for the time to get to it.  So here it is in all it’s glory!  I painted the top and chairs in Old White and the base of the table in Duck Egg Blue.  I then sanded all the edges to distress.  And of-coarse, added Annie Sloan Clear Wax for protection.

Here’s what the table looked like when I purchased it.  It was in excellent condition, including the chair cushions but I knew I wanted to change everything.
I’m sure my hubby would appreciate the fact that I caught him in the photo…he’s very busy watching T.V.
Here I am in my dining room (paint studio).  Someday I’ll have a real studio!!!
Here’s a photo of the chair once it received it’s makeover.
I spent a lot of time scooting around on the hardwood floor painting these legs.
Three coats of Old White were painted on the table top.

Here it is all stretched out with the leaves added.  Eight could sit comfortably around this table.

I was so excited to find this fabric at Joann’s for $5.99 a yard.  After I purchased five yards, I stopped by Hobby Lobby and found it there for just $3.99 a yard.  So guess where I’ll be shopping next time?  I’ve been told Walmart carries it for under $3.00 but the Walmart’s near me do not carry fabric.

This table didn’t last long…it has gone to live in a wonderful home!  It will be happy there! (Smiles)

  1. This transformation is LOVELY and I love the duck egg and old white combination! I have a table and chairs to do but I’m not certain that I have the patience to paint all of the legs so I’m “saving” it for a quiet day this Autumn (at least that’s what I’m telling myself as I look at the chairs that are stacked where I SHOULD be parking…in the gaarage! :)

  2. Beautiful job, love the colour choices you made!
