Old World Marble Top Accent Table

This beautiful piece has some obvious history.  Some chippy-ness has been added to it’s base throughout the years for added character.  When I saw it I thought immediately of my friend Rosemary @ Villabarnes and her old world finish treatment using Gesso.  (Click here to view her instructions)  Here are some before and after shots.  I lathered the gold base with white gesso and gently rubbed with a cloth exposing some of the gold highlights.  Love the way it turned out, it’s just what the this little treasure needed.

This turned out beautifully – yes. it does remind me of Rosemary’s inspirational pieces. I came over from Rustic Restoration where I posted a Chalkboard Countess in homage to Rosemary!
