Once again ~ I’m loving burlap!

First I cut a long strip of burlap approx. 3″ wide securing as I wrapped it around a straw wreath I purchased at Hobby Lobby with hot glue to start, and then again at the end.

Then I cut piles of 3.5″ squares of light and dark burlap.

I measured and marked where each color would alternate and then twisting the squares around the end of a pencil, I hot glued each piece to the front of the wreath.

It’s a bit time consuming but I ♥ the way it turned out!  I even recruited my husband to do some of the cutting while I glued.  It helped speed up the process.  If you have children still at home…even better!

Thought I would take a couple of shots outside, it was much lighter.

This would look great on a front door or gate as well.  I purchased the burlap from Joann’s at 40 percent off and I had a coupon for the wreath so this project is very inexpensive to make and would make an awesome gift for someone special so while you’re add it…why not make two!

I got this idea from one of my fellow bloggers but now I can’t find who it is to give them credit.  If you  know who it is or you are the creator, please let me know so I can add a link.
