Rocking Chair Rescue Project Is Complete!

This little rocking chair turned out so cute!  I’m extremely happy with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, the finish looks exactly like I hoped it would.  I think I love the most about this product is how easy it is to clean up.  It doesn’t matter how much build up gets on the brush, it washes right out!  I painted two coats of ASCP Old White and then mixed the Old White with a few drops of black acrylic paint I had in my stash to make a soft grey color.  I layered the grey over the white and then lightly rubbed areas where I wanted the white to show through.  I then re-upholstered the chair with Natural Duck Cloth I found at Hobby Lobby and then trimmed it with natural cording.  Love the neutral color, it would compliment any space and you could easily add pops of color using throws or pillows.

Poor chair was in sad shape.  The upholstery was hanging on with scotch tape.  Pretty funny!

This photo is after I painted the layer of grey.

Rubbed gently with a damp soft cloth to the desired look.
I used the old material to make a pattern on paper then cut out the new material and stapled it in place.

I then added the natural cording as trim around the edges to complete the look.

Whoohoo ~ it’s done and it’s adorable!!!
